Lamaze
Perhaps at no other time in your life will education about your condition become more important to you and to those you love. Pregnancy is a brief but physically and and emotionally challenging time in any woman's life. It's a great time to get yourself and your family prepared for the immediate future.
Our Lamaze class is taught by our own nurse-midwife, Susie Sizemore, and her assistant, Kathy Barker. Lamaze class is taught throughout the year in a series of six sessions with an additional optional and extensive tour of the Labor & Delivery unit at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Our class should be considered by women desiring "natural childbirth" as well as those planning to use an epidural for relief of labor pain. One of the six classes is devoted to breastfeeding and is taught by a local lactation consultant. Our class will prepare women and their partner's with extensive information about pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Classes are interactive and are kept to a small size to promote individualized attention and support. We have lots of fun while we learn!
