Biography
Dr. Ramie is a 1986 graduate of Bay High School here in Panama City, Florida. He completed a Bachelors in Science in Biology at Florida State University with Minors in Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology. From there he attended and graduated with his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University with Honors. While at Nova, Dr. Ramie was also a distinguished Anatomy Fellow and involved in academic teaching. He went on to complete an Internship and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. While in Residency, he completed the requirements for the Consortium in graduate medical education offered through Michigan State University. There he was a chief resident involved in teaching younger residents in the same field. Dr. Ramie is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In Obstetrics he has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of high risk conditions affecting pregnancy. Particularly, he has an interest in patients suffering from multiple pregnancy loss associated with heritable thrombophilic disorders related to pregnancy loss.
In gynecology, Dr. Ramie’s scope of practice includes the usual disorders of the uterus, the ovary, the vagina, and the vulva, as well as the pathophysiologic conditions associated with menstruation and menopause. He also has special interest in and additional training in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic relaxation. This condition affects a large number of women in their mid life. Treatments he specializes in are whole pelvic reconstruction, vaginal outlet reconstruction, repair of vaginal wall relaxation and resuspension of pelvic organs after hysterectomy. Dr. Ramie is also trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery, offering laparoscopic hysterectomy as well as the traditional forms of female surgery.
Dr. Ramie is married and has three children and makes his home in Panama City, Florida. He considers family values to be the driving force in his daily life and care of his patients. He has a developed interested in women’s care and holds a high regard for female health care and the feminine principle in general. He strives to practice medicine in an empathetic and nonjudgmental form that includes a holistic approach, offering all options to patients in the treatment of their condition.
